Republic of Ireland/Eire issued ELO LPs & CDs.

Polydor, United Artists, Jet Records and Epic issued Vinyl LP's in Ireland in the 1970's and 1980. Album sleeves and inner sleeves were printed in England.

LPs often had "Mfd. In Ireland” over printed on “Made In England” on the LP labels and generally had UK issued catalogue numbers.

Ireland had 2 Irish compilations, being the standard "ELO Greatest Hits" from 1979 and The Very Best Of The Electric Light Orchestra issued in 1989.

ELO also issued a number of 7" Irish pressed singles, general details are below, or for a full list, please visit ELO Singles

Notes

LP Labels states “ Made In the Republic of Ireland” This was a Re-issue from 1976 (E/C/G ST 76), because this album was already on JET Records, so when the JET Records marketed by Polydor contract expired, JET had to give the order to manufacture new issues.

E.L.O. had a new distribution contract (since summer 1976) with United Artists. So the new Jet LP’s for Face The Music got a alteration with the United Artists copyright sentence, and therefore it was the very first (real) Re-Issue of an E.L.O. Album!!!

Part of the UAG Re-issue series, issued in a UK printed main sleeve and a plain white inner sleeve.

Double LP in Gatefold sleeve with white inner sleeves. TV advertised. Distributed in Eire by WEA Records (IRL) Ltd. Issued in a Glossy and Matt Sleeve

The double LP, CD and Tape issue's have two spelling mistakes, The rear sleeve's/booklet's states Side 2 , Track 4 as  "out of my head" (so missing "Can't Get It"...) and the LP Side 1 label lists track 4 as "Civil" Woman rather then Evil Woman. The LPs have scribed on the run out grooves "a porky prime cut", this was cutting engineer George Peckham.

At the end of 1990 the collection was re-released in the UK & Eire with the spelling mistakes corrected from above and the LPs may have an embossed bass clef on the labels, different rim text and printed matrices on the run out grooves.

The 2nd issue CDs also have "The Very Best Of The" Telstar Logo and CD credits in white text.
