ELO Discography of UK issued/pressed or manufactured studio albums.

Here are the 15 main ELO studio albums issued in the UK.  Not included are non-official Live CDs or LPs, or Cassette Tapes as these were to easy to pirate and make non-official copies of.

Also not included are the the first issue CDs which were only issued in the USA & Japan, some then got imported in to the UK. I have included the first Euro CD copies that were imported to the UK , either on Jet or Epic issues.

Album labels were often change at the pressing plants if the type face or font was too small. Or some times label text would be moved around and in different place. I have included major changes to labels where at least the catalogue number has been changed or there was a major change to the label layout.

ELOs first two albums and singles were issued on the EMI Harvest label. They then moved to Warner Brothers for their next two albums, then on to JET Records for "Face The Music" LP, which was marketed by Polydor.

JET Records switched distribution to United Artists Records in 1976, but United Artists did not have their own distribution net in certain countries outside USA and Canada.

So the distributor United Artists Records itself uses the distribution nets of the local

countries distributor's.  In the UK United Artists Records were itself distributed by

EMI Records which was not printed anywhere on the LP labels or LP sleeves,

but just at the bottom of the ads! (see the add re "King Of The Universe")

The Cat.no. and the (sub-cat.no.) on the sleeve and labels.
Many record companies who get their release in "License" made their own territory Cat. no. and put the original release number in brackets.
For example for Out Of The Blue, on the sleeve and the record labels you can read UAR 100 (JT-LA 823-L2) because the United Artists US product was the ultimate release.

The Label Code (LC XXXX) was invented implemented from 1st. May 1976 for German releases and then in late 1970's it was implemented by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) for the rest of the world.

ELO albums and single UK issues starter using Label Codes from mid 1979.

Included are all UK release's and direct imports or issues made in Europe for the UK issued on Harvest/EMI, Jet Records, Epic, Sony & Legacy labels. Not included are Cassette Tapes as these were to easy to pirate and make non-official copies of.

Also not included are unique individual county issues (like Germany or Holland or USA compilations).

Due to the amount of UK ELO compilations, they are split up in to 7 sections. Harvest Years, Jet Greatest Hits 1 + 2, General UK compilations,  All Over The World series and Jeff's re-working of the songs for Mr. Blue Sky.
